Dramatically Boost Your PPC Conversions

Lately I’ve been immersed in the world of free traffic. We’re getting ready to launch “Traffic $100k Blueprint“, which revolves around getting and converting ‘free’ traffic, and as the author, I’ve been nose-deep in it for the last few months. With the bulk of the course written, I’ve been able to put some of my time back into paid traffic and “SEM” (Search Engine Marketing), an area I used to put the majority of my efforts into.

Paid traffic, and Pay-Per-Click specifically, is just as lucrative as it’s always been, but also just as risky if you don’t know what you’re doing. With free traffic, the most you can lose is your time. With paid traffic, you can lose your shirt.

Quickie: Easy Flipping Formula

One of the easiest and most self-contained ways for making money online is website flipping. While there are many avenues or strategies to pursue, such as buying inexpensive sites, boosting them, and reselling them, for this quickie we’re going to go over a quick and easy formula for building and selling new sites.

This strategy revolves around quickly building unique content sites, and flipping them right away. Using this method, you can expect to get $100-$200 per site, for about a day or two work; if you are good, or able to optimize your efforts, you could realistically produce these sites in about half a day.

To understand this strategy, it helps first to understand the website auction marketplace. While there are a number of venues for selling websites, such as eBay, digital point, and others, we are going to focus our efforts on the Flippa. This is in part because it is the largest auction venue, and in part because it will be the ‘easiest’ in terms of buyer sophistication.

Brand = Support = Reputation

With it’s un-erasable ‘memory’, immediate feedback, and instant dissemination of fact & opinion, the internet has forever changed the rules for marketing, reputation, and brand management. Knowing these ‘new rules’ will not only help you in your internet marketing efforts – making money online – but just as importantly, help you avoid the increasing number of landmines and pitfalls.

Once upon a time, companies could ‘manage’ their brands and their reputation fairly easily and effectively. For the most part, you saw what a company presented, and heard what they announced. Information wasn’t as quickly & widely disseminated , nor were most people able to access any- and everything. Companies could be very selective in ‘sculpting’ their image. What little “social proof” existed was in the form of testimonials – easily controlled by a company.

Quickie: 5 Ways To Make $1000 In The Next 30 Days

Some things never change; and in this business it’s the questions surrounding making money online. One of the questions I see a lot on forums is “How can I make $xxx”. Invariably, many of the responses are along the lines of “Just pick something, take action, and stick to it”. I also see a lot of “Look, it takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears; don’t just come here and expect us to tell you how to make $1000 in 2 weeks”.

The truth is, it’s not impossible to make $1000 in 2 weeks, and in fact it can even be fairly easy if you want to make $1000 in the next 30 days. Nor does it necessarily mean a huge learning curve. What it does require is thinking outside the box, and the willingness to put in the effort. “Easy” doesn’t mean “effortless”, but in this case it does mean “very doable”.

Affiliate Marketing Backwards: You’re Doing It Wrong

If you’re familiar with any of our products or reports, you know we don’t put much stock in “conventional wisdom”. After all, if “conventional wisdom” worked so well, you probably wouldn’t be here reading this.

In this post I want to challenge the “conventional wisdom” of affiliate marketing, one of the fastest, easiest, most lucrative ways to make money online, if done properly.

If you are new to Internet marketing in general, or affiliate marketing in particular, it is simply this: selling other people’s stuff. Connecting buyers with products, and earning a commission as a result. In practice, it can take many forms. Review sites that talk about particular products, niche websites that promote topical products, membership sites and e-mail lists catering to various topics and interests, pay per click and paid advertising, all are common ways to connect buyers and sellers.

Why Your Website Isn’t Getting More Traffic

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, a member of our forum, or bought our “Adsense $100k Blueprint”, you already know that most of our strategies for making money online revolve around search engine traffic. And you probably know that search engine traffic depends on rankings. But you may be surprised to learn just how important top Page 1 rankings really are.

A study by Cornell University backs up other research that shows more than half of all searchers click on the first listing of the search engine results pages (SERPs). Over 75% will click on one of the Top 3 listings. And the majority of what’s left will click on one of the remaining 7 listings, in decreasing percentages.

What this means is, if you aren’t at or near the top of the SERPs for your desired keyword phrase(s), you won’t be seeing much traffic.

The Keys To Sustainable Income

The focus of this site is on making money online – sustainably. I don’t know if it’s a ‘sign of the times’ in terms of the whole economic picture, or simply human nature, but there seem to be an awful lot of “Magic Bullet” products being launched & promoted. Perhaps it’s the lure of “instant” income, or “money for nothing” i.e. no work necessary. Unfortunately, one thing all these ‘solutions’ have in common is that they aren’t sustainable.

Shortcuts, “Black Hat” methods, loopholes – all of these eventually fall victim to Google’s never-ending efforts to improve their search results – and Google isn’t the only one. This invariably results in these methods or products no longer working. For those seeking the faster, easier way, the reality is that it often takes far more effort having to constantly chase the next loophole or tactic than it does to do things “right” from the beginning.

Making Money With Adwords? Mind Your Appearance!

PPC Pay Per ClickIf you’re in the business of making money online with Adwords, you’ve probably already realized a few things about creating effective ads. Your Click-Through Rate, or CTR for any type of online sales is important, but it’s critical for Pay Per Click where it can determine how much you pay. It’s important, however, that what you do to improve your click through rate doesn’t result in lower conversions.

For instance, adding the word “free” to my headline is a sure fire way to put my click through rate through the roof. But the quality of the clicks will be significantly diluted.

Fortunately for us many of the best ways to boost our CTR also boost the quality of those clicks, which in turn raises our conversion rates.

Display URL
You may consider your display URL something you have very little control over. This is not the case. First and most important: if the domain name in your actual display URL isn’t suggestive, I strongly consider purchasing a domain name, even if you just have to set up a redirect on that domain. You can get.info domain names as low as two dollars.

Affiliate Marketing – Backwards

Affiliate MarketingAffiliate marketing – making money simply by promoting other people’s products – is one of the great online business models; really one of the great business models period.

The problem is that it is often taught and practiced backwards. What I’m referring to is that conventional wisdom that says “find a product to promote…” The idea is, find a product that meets certain criteria, such as a “top seller”, a “starving market”, etc. and then promote it. Promoted how? If you already have a captive market, such as a list or a membership site in a certain niche, this may work well. But for most marketers, it’s an entirely backwards approach.

As with most other Internet marketing business models, affiliate marketing relies on traffic. Unless you’re planning on spending a lot of money on pay per click, for most of us this means search traffic and rankings. Doesn’t it make more sense then to get traffic and then monetize it, rather than have a product and try to figure out how to get traffic?
